...Stillness & Silence...

Psalm 61:1-4 Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings. Selah Psalm 121 I lift up my eyes to the hills— where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip— he who watches over you will not slumber; indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD watches over you— the LORD is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

New Ears

It's a beautiful morning. The temperature is perfect... just a tinge of chill in the air, the birds are singing loud, celebrating Spring, my bed is cozy, I have rested well... a sweet welcome to a new day... my heart is peaceful and happy. New beginnings... to marvel upon; ah, Thank You Lord. My ears are tuning into a new voice. That new voice is the Voice of Love. Let's back up a little.... in the last few years, I have been challenged in understanding Grace. I know people who I deem, "a lady of grace," or "a graceful person." I love these peeps! My heart just unfolds with them... they are wonderful safe people I want to emulate. I can copy how they are... but I wanted to BE what they were... I just did not know how to get there. So, I began talking to the Lord about this, it wasn't a new theme for Him. He had been calling me to live in Grace for a LONG TIME... and giving me gentle reminders that I was not getting it. You see, I grew up h

Getting Started

Image
I have a paper due this week. It's not even a lengthy one. My "school energy" tank is on low. It is too beautiful outside to sit inside and type out anything much more than a blog entry. So, I sit here... with every window in the house that I can open, open wide, my papers and books and Bible strewn across my dining room table, half my dinner eaten, wondering when the scope and sequence of this paper will come flowing into my brain. Most likely as the shadows stretch across the lawn and the stars begin to appear. I don't even want to sit here, I am glad I can lounge on the couch w/ my laptop... Anyhow. School. Spring. Life. Not mixing well these days. Not that I am complaining; just know I need to focus.... and I forgot where that button is in my brain. ;-) Just so you can catch the spirit of my life right now... I had to share: I just got distracted by a sweet dog in the back yard who is running around like a banji - so thrilled because she found her long

Can't Sleep

This post may not make sense in six months but... i love the background of my blog. I love the water... I love the skyline... I LOVE sunrises and sunsets. I get lost in them. My heart is magically drawn into the beauty of such a scene... and I am breathless over God's Creation... and to think, THIS IS SIMPLY a TASTE of HIS Glorious Beauty. I love the word picture of Psalm 104:1-3 Praise the LORD, O my soul. O LORD my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty. He wraps himself in light as with a garment; he stretches out the heavens like a tent and lays the beams of his upper chambers on their waters. He makes the clouds his chariot and rides on the wings of the wind.

A Sample of Spring

I bought a new praise album off of Itunes the other day, a Paul Baloche worship album and I discovered this song tonight... It is called "Here and Now" - a ballet. It is so beautiful, and the words are beautiful as well... I thought it fitting to add it to this "Sample of Spring" - both are beautiful, full of new Life, and I am thankful for both. Here and now, here in this moment Here and now I turn to You All that my searching heart has longed for can be found 'Cause You're in this moment, here and now What majesty, what mystery, The God of all eternity Stepped into time and gave His life for me Your hand is seen in galaxies, Yet Your Spirit dwells in me So vast and yet You're still within our reach There is nowhere You can't be found Nothing on earth could ever keep Your Presence out Here and now, here in this moment Here and now I turn to You All that my searching heart has longed for can be found 'Cause You're in

Staying Healthy

Image
It's FRIDAY! And I have had a cup of coffee --- it always amazes me how a cup of coffee can just... make one feel better. I did have a cup of JESUS this morning too... and He filled me to overflowing :-) Psalm 46 was where we met, especially in 46:5b..." God will help her when morning dawns." I love it when Scripture, the Living Word, becomes a rhema , something specifically for me today . He is our Life, our Breath... He sustains LIFE in us. Do we really get that? Just a thought... I thank Him for Life. So, staying healthy is my thought... one piece of professional advice I try to apply to my life to stay healthy is doing something, no matter how small, each day that is fun or simply brings me joy. It can be anything - a cup of coffee, or driving with the windows down, or calling a friend or going for a walk. I enjoyed a short walk this morning with Sasha; it rained last night and the air was cool, clean and fresh. Mist was hovering over the hills, licking

Verse For the Day

“For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!”- Romans 5:10 Nee's book I recently finished unpacked Romans for me so well. The Truth does set you Free. In His Light we see Light.... I am an avid reader but sometimes when you are taking in so much - reading for school as I am - it feels like you are trying to drink from a fire hydrant. In my personal reading I want to slow down and allow these things to truly permeate in my Soul, or all the FRESH WATER doesn't truly nourish your thirsty heart. This verse was the "verse of the day" on Biblegateway.com today... it is a wonderful reminder: God is for me. In and through the Life of Jesus I have Salvation... I have Life...I have Light, Peace, Hope, a Sure Foundation.

1st of April - Freshness Everywhere

It's my favorite time... this week is one I enjoy spending time reflecting on Passion week. A few years ago It became SO much more precious after doing a special teaching on it to my Bible students. After studying over it for my lesson I was praying about how to present it to my students in a way that would be different. I taught at a Christian school and most of my students were from christian homes who could have taught the material themselves. How could I make it different, real and personal to them? As I was praying over this God gave me a brilliant idea; a monologue began to form in my head, as if an eye witness were sharing about the week... the eye witness came out of the story... she was a servant girl, who worked for the man who owned the Upper Room. It was a Powerful presentation; one that God birthed in my mind and heart and He help me pull it off! I was blown away with how it came together and my students gleaned truth in a fresh way... i even heard about it from
