Willow Creek Leadership Summit: A Thousand Questions

He wants to USE ME....HERE AM I!

"Any moment now, he's going to take a look at me and say, "you are totally not worth it."...... "You ARE worth it!"

This is a line from the movie, "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" - if you have not seen the movie, it is a cute movie of a gal who is of course, Greek, and she is in her 30's - in the beginning you see her very dejected, homely, and hopeless - and then the story shows how the person inside of her finally comes out and you see a beautiful, funny, woman emerge. And of course, a handsome, kind man comes into her world and "discovers" her.... he is not Greek and it is quite comical to see the vast differences between their families and beautiful, how lovingly he bridges the gap to be with her. I must put a disclaimer - their courtship is patterned after the "world's" order, please don't think i am endorsing that pattern - would not it be wonderful to see a movie like this in which they KEPT themselves and did …

New Verse ~ Ephesians 1:17-21

I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.

I have been given the privilege of teaching the ladies SS class at church and the Lord has led me to Ephesians. This week, for "homework" I asked the ladies to work over this prayer Paul prays, for US who believe! To pray it for ourselves as well as others. I had a sneaking suspic…

Totally Ruined

Hey Friends and Fam - It is a beautiful Saturday morning in Columbia, South Carolina. The weather is giving us a break from the hot humid unbreathable weather we have had over the last few months - summer is worse here than in Florida! At least there you can run to the beach in less than an hours drive.... anyhow, what a blessing to have 60 something degree weather for several days; my a/c is OFF and windows have been open - much to my kitty's delight.

As I shared in several earlier posts, this summer has been a blast. So many blessings, so much variety, even a GREAT tan to boot! I am milking this tan as long as I can by going sailing more than a few times in the last week or so... I am going again today AND on Monday! When am i going to get any studying done.... sailing - studying, SAILING! :-)

I also had a fabulous, no make that, MAHVELOUS, Birthday this year... and i just had to share one of the blessings I received. I think God just decided to bless me more than abunda…

Psalm 145:8-12 Continued

Psalms 145:8-12 (NIV)
The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. The Lord is good to all; He has compassion on all He has made. All You have made will praise You, O Lord; Your saints will extol You. They will tell of the glory of Your kingdom and speak of Your might,so that all men may know of Your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of Your kingdom.

I am still enjoying these verses but haven't got them INTO the folds of my brain so I will stay here for the next two weeks. How they have ministered to me though.... I have taken these and personalized them... putting my name in where it fits, "The Lord is good to ME; He has compassion on me because He has made me.... I will praise YOU, O Lord.... I will extol YOU! I will tell of the glory of YOUR Kingdom and speak of Your Might, so that all men may know of YOur mighty acts and the glorious splendor of your Kingdom!"

It is AMAZING to think... I am a MEMBER, a vital part of HIS Kingdom! Ho…
