Psalm 36:5-10

Your love, O LORD, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your justice like the great deep O LORD, you preserve both man and beast. How priceless is your unfailing love! Both high and low among men find refuge in the shadow of your wings. They feast on the abundance of your house; you give them drink from your river of delights. For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light. Continue your love to those who know you, your righteousness to the upright in heart." Psalm 36:5-10 (NIV) This passage was posted on another blog I visit frequently and it is one I have gleaned from many times. I love the imagery of the "river of delights" - a FEAST of abundance.... and that in HIS LIGHT we see light. Right now, the last verse grips me, that is my prayer. "Lord, continue your love..." to me... help me know Your righteousness... open my eyes with Your Light. I h...

The Stranger

Some friends of mine lent me a video series called "the Stranger" - 6-7 mini-video's; each is one of Jesus' most well known scenes or parables. Stories such as The Prodigal son, Mary and Martha, the woman at the well; each of these are portrayed in a modernized way. Jesus "shows up" as a Stranger, meeting the person, speaking into their world Truth, Grace, Hope and Love. Each story illustrates powerful Truth in a fresh, very personal way. As I watched them, an ache in my heart rose. How wonderful it would be to meet Jesus; to interact with Him as this video portrays. He simplifies the mess, pulls out the real issue and reminds us that though details change, Truth does not. Several years ago there was a tv show called, "Touched by an Angel" - there was some controversy over that show - was it sound? But, you know what, it too brought SUCH encouragement to weary, hungry hearts reminding us: God LOVES You! We search and search for signi...

His Strength is Perfect

Search for the Lord and for his strength; continually seek him. Psalm 105:4 This short nugget of truth met me last week. I love how intimate and perfect God is - HE is who comes after us while we are lost going round and round in our own "wisdom." This verse reminded me that my weakness is quite "strong" - stubborn and blind; it robs us of what God has for us. His Truth showed me my reflection and I didn't like what I saw; He mercifully met me with His righteousness and strength. It is available to me, as HIS Child, and I stood up in that and know the change in me. I love it! When we, as Children of the King, don't walk under HIS covering and HIS clothing - we are choosing to wear our own filthy clothing - it is rather stinky, torn, dirty, and a cumbersome burden! Throw it off!! HIS strength is perfect in righteousness, light, easy, and beautiful!! PUT IT ON!

A few more times out and I will have this down!!! maybe.... The best place on the boat to take a nap.... until the wind picks up and you about roll off!! Heading out to the Peach Festival tonight.... will try to add some more pics if I get some! Happy Independence Day!! POST SCRIPT... Post Peach Festival... i was too late, all the peach ice cream had been sold and I just walked through watching everyone pack up, oh well - but made up for the disappointment by talking with a friend on my way home, which was sweeter than peach ice cream! :-)

Hosea 10:12

I said, ‘Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will harvest a crop of love. Plow up the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the Lord, that he may come and shower righteousness upon you.’ I love the word picture of sowing and harvesting. Isaiah 32:17 is another one of my favorite verses - it speaks of harvesting the fruit of righteousness... That is what I want in my life! This verse so blessed me the other day I chose it to be my next verse to work through.... Care to join me?
