No Fear Zone

God truly did some work on me on this retreat this past week. The Lord showed me that fear has a bigger grip on me than i realize and i want to walk in greater freedom. Enough of being crippled with fear, i could see myself, like Much-Afraid in Hinds Feet in High Places (book we were reading in preparation of this retreat), at a precipice, an impass of sorts, going back and forth on a ledge. I could not see a way down, or past or how I got there! We spent time praying over this; I was prayed for and ministered to muchly! Lots of ministry happened this weekend. As this particular time of ministry met me, a sister in the Lord read this passage from Isaiah 54:
With a little wrath I hid My face from you for a moment;
But with everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you,”
Says the LORD, your Redeemer.
9 “ For this is like the waters of Noah to Me;
For as I have sworn
That the waters of Noah would no longer cover the earth,
So have I sworn
That I would not be angry with you, nor rebuke you.
10 For the mountains shall depart
And the hills be removed,
But My kindness shall not depart from you,
Nor shall My covenant of peace be removed,”
Says the LORD, who has mercy on you.
11 “ O you afflicted one,
Tossed with tempest, and not comforted,
Behold, I will lay your stones with colorful gems,
And lay your foundations with sapphires.
12 I will make your pinnacles of rubies,
Your gates of crystal,
And all your walls of precious stones.
13 All your children shall be taught by the LORD,
And great shall be the peace of your children.
14 In righteousness you shall be established;
You shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear;
And from terror, for it shall not come near you.

As she read it, she put my name in the places it fit. These verses are significant to me - especially as they speak of Noah. Several years ago God used the story of Noah to intimately speak to my heart of His loving care over me. Even when i feel like i am being overtaken by massive waves of my emotions, or circumstances or whatever, He is holding me through them. When she shared this passage with me, God reminded me He IS intimately involved with my life and loves me deeply. How I needed to hear this! My soul has been in a very odd place this past year and I wanted some resolve and release. How thankful I am to the LORD; He is truly gracious and compassionate!
