I love how God is with us. He is so tender, so gentle, so patient... so good. There are many things in my heart and mind and life that tempt me to get all wound up, worried, anxious, perplexed. I usually have a hard time leaving something alone too. I pick at it over and over and over... like a child who just can not leave well enough alone and spoils the surprise with immature impatience, a lack of trust. Last night, after a long, busy week, I was thankful to have a few hours to sit in my favorite chair and spend time with the Lord. I even had to be disciplined in doing that, as I was tempted to disengage with the TV, but I knew my Spirit was hungry for the Lord's Presence and honestly, my quiet times have been getting slim in quality and in quantity; when i feel myself getting to that point, a song rises in my heart. I don't even know who sang it, and I have not heard it in years - but the words are... "I miss my time with you, those moments togeth...
I am thankful for this blogsite. God has used it to help me have an outlet of the things in my heart, to express myself. Tonight, i have a few thoughts.... The past few weeks have been something amazing to me. I feel like a door has opened in my life and sunshine is flooding in and around me as i step forth into a new place. I am one of those people who think alot...and sometimes i begin going down this spiral of questions finding no answers, digging a deep dark hole...then i begin to say, "LORD, HELP ME OUT OF HERE!"....He is so patient to come and pull me out....then, somehow, sometimes, i go back and look down that dark hole....my feet get too close to the edge and the dirt gives way and i fall back down...."Lo...
I am SO glad that America created a 5 day work week. Back before the 1920's, the work week was longer.... Can you believe working 12-14 hour days, 6 days a week? Though I do know of a few occupations that have insane work hours....and there are Many people out there who WORK hard; God really knew what He was doing when He installed ONE day to rest. That is good! Thank You Lord! So....even though my weekend looks full, I do get to sleep a few extra hours and enjoy a more relaxed schedule for about 48 hours...Let's slow down this weekend, and enjoy a Sabbath day. I pray YOU enjoy a wonderful weekend - I will enjoy a cup of tea some where in my next 48 hours!
